Cabbage with Sausage and Potatoes + My Cornbread Recipe

Hello everyone and welcome back, I hope everyone is making it through this chilly January alright! Today I am going to share with you one of my favorite comfort foods that my mother would make often, cabbage with sausage, potatoes and cornbread. This is a perfect weeknight dinner, you can prep everything but the potatoes a few days before, quickly sauté then pop the top on and let it simmer while you make the cornbread. Within an hour you will have delicious, filling dinner on the table perfect for those chilly winter nights.

Me and my mother, Arnetta

I remember I was always very excited when I saw she was chopping up cabbage and prepping her cast iron for cornbread. Both of my parents worked full time but they both made sure that we had a homemade dinner together every night, sitting at the dinner table with my parents and sister are some of my favorite memories. This recipe is based on my mothers and I hope you will give it a try, if you make either of these recipes, please remember to rate and review, it helps me out a lot!

I’m not bragging but my cornbread is very popular, I have several recipes that I make but this is the easiest and does not require a cast iron skillet. In the future I will share my cast iron skillet cornbread with a lot of information about how to keep your cast iron in good condition. This recipe is very simple and can be made in a cake pan or a high sided pie pan, you can also make these into cornbread muffins!
